Jule Niemeier suffered a disappointment at the tennis tournament in Parma. The German hope for the future lost to the Italian Jasmine Paolini 7:5, 4:6, 2:6 and was thus eliminated in the first round.
Niemeier, who had last reached the last 16 at the US Open, had to admit defeat after 2:19 hours. The 23-year-old had first fought her way into the main draw via the qualifying round.
