FIFA 23: Disaster glitch for infinite coins and cards? EA reacts with hotfix

In the last week before the Early Access start of EA SPORTS FC 24 there has been a gigantic bug in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team (FUT). In favour of the players, who were able to clear big for a short time.

Infinite coins and player cards in FUT? The dream of many fans. On Wednesday morning, it became a reality. Various content creators reported on X (formerly Twitter) about a glitch in FIFA 23 that brought massive benefits to players. Affected were SBCs and quick sales, where the respective objects did not disappear from the own club. Accordingly, rewards could be earned without using them.

When completing SBCs, the cards that were actually sacrificed remained with the players, but they still received the packs or special items. In the case of quick sales, the items were not discarded, but the coins were taken. EA SPORTS has apparently reacted to this circumstance in the meantime with a hotfix, since late morning the glitch can no longer be used. However, an official statement from the developer is still pending.

“I have never seen such a bad bug before “

Many X users are now speculating what the consequences of this short window and its use might be. One possibility is that EA SPORTS will correct all transactions retrospectively – i.e. withdraw the cards from the clubs after all. This possible measure could also be accompanied by compensation. Parts of the community also warn against penalties. They fear a wave of bans that could also apply to EA SPORTS FC 24.

However the publisher may continue to react to its own mistake and the community’s exploits: it can be sure of the ridicule of its supporters. “EA can be happy that it’s the last week of FIFA 23. I’ve never seen such a bad bug,” the X account ‘Riggers’ shared with its nearly 70,000 followers. “How did EA pull off an infinite coins and packs glitch back in September?” asked ‘FUTZone’.

This blooper joins the ranks of FUT 23’s mistakes. At the end of August, EA SPORTS had a level-up glitch, with Futties maps having to be touched up two weeks earlier. In late July, the Futties promo had already caused a “new low for EA”. With the Early Access release of EA SPORTS FC 24 on 22 September, however, hardly anyone is likely to talk about it any more.
