In Monaco, Fernando Alonso takes delivery of a hypercar worth around €10 million—including a custom-made Recaro seat
Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso has a new toy: Just a few weeks after the birth of his first child, he took delivery of a new car in his adopted home of Monaco—a hypercar, but with a child seat.
Car seat manufacturer Recaro went the extra mile for Alonso: The child seat is a custom-made piece and matches the color scheme of Alonso’s Formula 1 helmet design, featuring various shades of blue, yellow, and red accents.
The hypercar comes in the “Diamante Verde” version, featuring a dark green, shimmering carbon-fiber finish. It is a Pagani Zonda 760 Roadster, available in limited quantities starting at an estimated ten million euros.
A video on social media shows Alonso taking delivery of the car in Monaco—and unlocking it manually at the door handle. Alonso then personally attaches the front license plate before setting off on his first drive under the watchful eyes of numerous curious onlookers.
This is how exclusive Alonso’s Pagani Zonda is
Pagani built around 140 Zonda models between 1999 and 2019. Alonso’s car, however, is particularly exclusive: it is powered by a 760-horsepower V12 engine from Mercedes-AMG, located behind the driver.
But the Pagani isn’t a new car: Alonso bought it used—directly from the previous owner. The previous owner kept the car mostly in the garage and drove it only about 800 kilometers.
It remains to be seen how much Alonso will drive it. The two-time Formula 1 world champion owns several exclusive sports cars, including a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR and an Aston Martin Valkyrie. Alonso, on the other hand, sold his Ferrari Enzo back in 2023—reportedly for over five million euros.
So far in the 2026 Formula 1 season, Alonso has mostly been trailing behind: His Aston Martin AMR26 suffers from poor performance and a lack of reliability. Neither Alonso nor his teammate Lance Stroll has managed to score points yet.
