FC 24: 253 FUT cards for one Mbappé – the POTM outdoes himself

Kylian Mbappé has also been voted Ligue 1’s Player of the Month for November. His new POTM property goes hand in hand with the most expensive SBC in FC 24 – a title he takes from himself

Lionel Messi is gone, Neymar is gone – Kylian Mbappé has stayed. The departures of two thirds of the former PSG wonder striker have created a clear situation: Mbappé is the most prominent professional in Ligue 1. On top of that, the 2018 world champion is also by far the most prolific scorer with 18 goals in 16 games this season. So it’s no wonder that the 25-year-old has been named player of the month in the French top flight for the second time in a row. And for the second time in a row, he has received an extremely expensive POTM SBC in FC 24.

FUTBIN puts the market value of the FUT objects required for the team building challenge at more than 4.8 million coins. 23 teams must be traded in, which corresponds to a total of 253 cards. 22 of them must be Inform items. The overall team average ratings required are 85 (four times), 86 (four times), 87 (four times), 88 (six times), 89 (four times) and even 90 (once). Even for frequent players, a successful finish is a mammoth task.

Mbappé more expensive than Eusebio and Zidane put together

The SBC to POTM property is the most expensive of its kind in FC 24 so far. And who is Mbappé replacing? Himself. The previous item for October had previously held the top spot, with cards worth around 3.6 million coins. By way of comparison: EA SPORTS recently released two of the five most expensive team challenges in FC 24 with the Icons SBCs for Eusebio and Zinedine Zidane. Together, they are still cheaper than Mbappé’s second POTM SBC

But why is the attacker so expensive in FUT? Because EA SPORTS knows that many fans will spend all their virtual savings on the item. The new special card has an overall rating of 93 – but other values are really exciting: 98 points for acceleration and sprint speed, 96 for finishing, 95 for agility, 94 for ball control. There are also five stars for the special moves and the PlayStyle+ “Frenzy”, which gives the object even more speed when dribbling.

Second 93 special card within a week

It’s also interesting to note that while the POTM card clearly takes the lead in the SBC ranking by price, it only just comes first on the Mbappé list. The Parisian had recently become part of EA SPORTS’ “Team of the Group Stage” and also received a 93 item for it. The TOTGS object even has 14 points more than its POTM counterpart across all attributes. However, it is currently available on the FUT transfer market for 4.6 million coins and is therefore slightly cheaper.

Community reactions have been mixed. Various players were disappointed by the dynamic image on the card, and many would have liked a more exciting pose. Some fans take the enormously expensive requirements including the 90-man team with humor, others complain about them. For most, the classification is hypothetical, they can’t afford it anyway. Or as the user ‘Sainnt’ put it in the FUTBIN comments: “Not even the team I want to play myself has a 90 average rating. “
