Dominant performance by Struff

In the first set, Struff takes every service game from his opponent.

Professional tennis player Jan-Lennard Struff won his opening match at the ATP tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in dominant fashion.

Just a few days after his successful appearance in the Davis Cup qualifying round with the German team, the veteran gave France’s Hugo Grenier no chance, winning 6-0, 6-4.

In just 1 hour and 4 minutes, Struff outclassed his opponent, especially in the first set, with Grenier constantly struggling to cope with the 35-year-old’s powerful returns. Struff, currently ranked 82nd in the world, showed no major weaknesses in the second set either.

Tennis: Struff advances to the round of 16

The Warstein native will now face Hubert Hurkacz (Poland) or Alexander Bublik (Kazakhstan/No. 3) in the round of 16.

Just last week, Struff played with the DTB team in Düsseldorf in the Davis Cup and secured a ticket to the second round of the prestigious team competition with a convincing 4-0 victory over Peru.
