Crystal Palace Have Their Eye on Michail Antonio

The football transfer gossip is livening up as players return from their pre-season holidays and the World Cup draws to a close. Last week West Ham United confirmed that Jack Wilshire had signed for the club on a free transfer after leaving Arsenal at the end of his contract.

Hammers take another risk with an injury prone player

West Ham are no strangers to taking gambles on players with a history of injuries, as we saw when they brought Andy Carroll in. His career at West Ham has been blighted with injuries and news emerged yesterday that he faces another three months on the sidelines with an ankle injury. The Hammers will be hoping that Wilshire is able to stay injury free but at least they did not have to pay a hefty signing fee this time.

Anderson close to Hammers move

Felipe Anderson is reported to be close to signing for West Ham, as new manager Manuel Pellegrini looks to strengthen his squad. He could soon join Yarmelonko, Fredericks, Fabianski and Diop who have already signed for them this summer.

Antonio to Crystal Palace?

One player that could be on the move out of West Ham is powerful winger Michail Antonio, who is being linked with a move across London to Crystal Palace. It is thought that a bid of around £15 million will be enough to tempt West Ham into selling him. Antonio didn’t have as great a season as he would have hoped for, with injury problems limiting him to just 21 appearances but he is hoping that a move to Palace will kick-start his career.

Palace fans will be concerned that the arrival of Antonio may mean that Wilfried Zaha is on his way out of the club. Last season he showed the kind of form that prompted Manchester United to buy him a few years ago but that move never worked out, with David Moyes not really giving him a chance. A move to another top six club could be on the cards though, as Zaha aims to show United what they are missing out on.
