Corentin Moutet loses his cool at the tournament in Hamburg. Although the Frenchman is already known for his scandalous antics, he never ceases to surprise.
Tennis troublemaker Corentin Moutet has once again lost his composure—and caused a bizarre scene at the ATP tournament in Hamburg.
During his first-round loss to Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (4-6, 4-6), the visibly frustrated Frenchman lost his cool at 2-3 in the first set.
Tennis: Moutet draws laughs from the crowd
First, the 27-year-old threw his racket down in a fit of rage; then he suddenly pulled down his pants and stuck his butt out toward the spectators.
The spectators began to laugh, while Davidovich Fokina ignored the crazy scene and didn’t seem bothered by it.
The Spaniard ultimately won the match comfortably in two sets. He will face Australian Alex de Minaur in the next round.
Rafael Nadal, of all people, is his role model
Germany’s number one, Alexander Zverev, had withdrawn from the home tournament in Hamburg.
Moutet has repeatedly caused scandals and minor controversies in the past. This makes it all the more surprising that his role model is the relatively scandal-free Rafael Nadal, who, unlike Moutet, does not throw rackets around.
