Bayern basketball team without Radosevic in future – “key player” Rubit remains

The FC Bayern Munich basketball team have made further personnel decisions around a month before the start of the new Bundesliga season.

The Munich team announced on Wednesday that Augustine Rubit, the second key player after Othello Hunter, has extended his contract. The 32-year-old Rubit signed a new contract until 2023.
The power forward moved to Munich from Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania) last year. Rubit, under contract in Tübingen, Ulm and Bamberg from 2014 to 2019, averaged 10.6 points per game in the 2021/22 BBL. In the Euroleague, it was 10.5 points per game.

Rubit was “without a doubt one of the surprises of the last Euroleague season”, said sport director Daniele Baiesi: “Augustine was very productive for us on the offensive end and one of our key players on the offensive end with his two-dimensional game. He also gave us versatility and physicality on defence. “

Radosevic once champion, twice Cup winner

Center Leon Radosevic, on the other hand, will leave the club. The contract of the Croatian, who had moved to the Isar from Brose Bamberg in 2018, was not extended. The 32-year-old played a total of 129 times for the runners-up in the Bundesliga. In the Euroleague, Radosevic played 104 times. With Bayern, he celebrated winning the championship in 2019 and the cup in 2021.
