Bamberg “very disappointed”: Baggette terminates contract and moves to 2nd division

Elias Baggette of Bundesliga side Brose Bamberg has “surprisingly” terminated his contract, which runs until 2024, and joined a second division club.

The Upper Franconians announced this on Friday. “I am very disappointed in Elias. Not by the termination and the desire for change per se, but by the manner and the timing,” said managing director Philipp Galewski, according to the statement. Nothing was initially known about the new club. According to the media, it is the Eisbären Bremerhaven.

The 19-year-old point guard joined the club’s youth programme at the age of 16, according to the Bambergers. He has been a “full-time professional” since that season, he said. “We have invested a lot in his training on and off the court. That he then abandons both the team and the organisation without notice or a conversation is incomprehensible to me,” said Galewski.
