Aubameyang has a dream debut at Arsenal; hattrick for Ramsey

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his debut with Arsenal with a goal. The attacker arrived at Borussia Dortmund’s attacker chip chip passed the ball eight minutes before resting over Jordan Pickford and put the 4-0 on the scoreboard. It eventually became 5-1 in the Emirates Stadium. Aubameyang is the eighth football player who scored for Arsenal in his first Premier League duel.

The hit of the Gabonese shouldn’t have counted, because at the moment Henrikh Mkhitaryan put him in front of the goalkeeper, he was offside for half a metre. The home fans didn’t turn around and the experienced supporters from Liverpool will soon have come to terms with it, because they too realised that the duel had actually been played after twenty minutes. After six minutes Aaron Ramsey tapped the 1-0 after a low and tight cross of Mkhitaryan and the margin was doubled by Laurent Koscielny, who nodded into the ball at the second pole after a crossed-out corner kick.

After nineteen minutes Ramsey was again responsible for the 3-0: the midfielder scored with a shot changed direction and has now been directly involved in one hundred goals of Arsenal (52 hits and 48 assists). The final chord in the first half was supposedly to Aubameyang, although the damage could have been even more serious for Everton; Nacho Monreal struck the bar with a header. On the other hand, Theo Walcott was close to the hit after a breakout, but his shot was chequered by Shkodran Mustafi.

In the second half came Everton’s first serious danger: Oumar Niasse received the ball from Walcott and hit the aluminum. Not much later it was quite a hit for the Toffees: Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed the 4-1 against the ropes after 65 minutes after a cross by Cuco Martina. Everton played a lot more self-confident after the break, but no more than 4-1 was achieved and via Ramsey it became 5-1. For Arsenal, the failure of Petr Cech was a blot on the victory; the goalkeeper had to be replaced by David Ospina twenty minutes before time.
